Project “Operation Cookie” of The New York Women’s Culinary Alliance donates 120 pounds of cookies to troops in Afghanistan

“Operation Cookie” started in 2003 after one of the organizers of NYWCA saw a need to bring a little piece of New York to troops overseas.
The baked treats for this project were gathered from various drop off points in Manhattan and shipped out this past Monday

With plans to open a Noho location early next year, Mile End tries to get a wine and beer license approved

Zella Jones of the neighborhood expressed concerns to Community Board 2 about the late night drinking crowd that the location will attract if it’s opening from 8am – 2am. Although Mile End showed a signed petition of 140 signatures, the application was denied.
Mile End will be trying to get the license passed on the state level

Ronnybrook Farms and Edible Manhattan Presents “Cow-nival” at the Chelsea Market

People will be able to take pictures and pet the cows in the Chelsea Market space.
