The French macaron trend continues in New York with the grand opening of Macaron Café. The menu offers flavors like Fleur de Sel (caramel), Chocolate Passion Fruit, Coconut, Espresso and much more.

Opening Update: Sullivan Street Bakery opens 2nd location in the Chelsea area

The bakery opened its doors last week Wednesday with much anticipation from their loyal fan base. The second Sullivan Street outpost is baking traditional favorites on-site such as the olive oil cake, cornetti, bombolonis and much more with Italian groceries for sale.
Sullivan Street Bakery is located at 236 Ninth Avenue at West 24th Street

Oatmeals is now open offering oats in the Greenwich Village

This new single-product shop serves up oatmeal with various toppings– traditional and
non-traditional. The menu also includes baked goods and pastries with oats as the main ingredient.
Oatmeals is located on 120 W. 3rd Street at the corner of MacDougal Street

Sprinkles Cupcake ATM Machine comes to Washington D.C.

Starting next month, things will become a little sweeter in the D.C. area after hours with a cupcake ATM machine. The “ATM” will be able to hold up to 600 cupcakes for $4 each that would be restocked periodically by Sprinkles staff. We also reported a few months ago about this cupcake ATM coming to New York very soon– a great add to the city! The Sprinkles Cupcake ATM concept started in Beverly Hills and has become a staple feature on the West Coast.

City Bakery adds more juice to their menu

The juicing industry is definitely expanding and City Bakery saw this as an opportunity to offer something a little different. The established bakery has recently added a juicing bar in the back of the shop with a not-so-traditional juicing menu. Think kirby cucumber, fennel, and sugarcane,
or banana and cold-brewed coffee with cocoa nibs and lastly, our personal favorite, sweet potato, orange, and cilantro.

Maison Ladurée coming soon to Soho

The biggest macaron location to date in the world for Maison Ladurée is opening soon in Soho. The new shop will include a pastry lab, tea salon, chefs on-site and catering services. Expected opening date has yet to be confirmed.
Maison Ladurée will be located at 398 West Broadway near Spring Street

Save The Date: The Bouchon Bakery Cookbook arrives on October 23rd

Bouchon Bakery, my old stomping ground is set to launch its first cookbook.  Chef Thomas Keller and Sebastien Rouxel have shared their delicious treats with us with the book launch set for October 23rd. Until you start baking at home, you can indulge in their pastries in one of their locations in NYC, Las Vegas or Los Angeles.

Thomas Keller and Sebastien Rouxel are soon to launch the first Bouchon Bakery Cookbook.

Le Petit Bakery is now open in Clinton Hill

The newest boulangerie has a new home in Clinton Hill selling pastries, muffins, and cookies. Former Per Se and 11 Madison Park owner, Christopher Sanchez, is looking to offer more pastry variations at his latest venture very soon.

Lanbrot Bakery opens up their 2nd location in the Lower East Side

After the April opening of the first location in the West Village, Lanbrot now has another location that will be serving up German bread, pretzels, beer, coffee and much more.

Coming Soon to Park Slope: Brooklyn Crepe and Juice

In the mood for a Williamsburg, Crown Heights or Bay Ridge Sweet Crepe? The 2nd outpost to the healthy juice, smoothie and crepe shop is coming soon to Park Slope that will follow the same Brooklyn-centric menu from their 1st location in Prospect Heights.
The creperie/juice shop will open at Fifth AVenue between Lincoln and Berkeley
