Although it was short-lived, The Meatball Factory did strike up a lot of buzz for their grand opening in October 2011 for having Top Chef contestant Dave Martin on board and being a competitor to the well-known Meatball Shop empire.

It’s official! The Williamsburg shop that specializes in fromage opened up their second location in Manhattan last weekend. The 5,000 square foot space includes a spacious retail section, specialty cheese classrooms and 3 cheese caves.

Everyman Espresso opens second location in Soho
In hopes of expanding the Everyman current menu, owner, Sam Penix, recently opened a second location for the manly coffeehouse. This location offers to-go coffee cups alongside the traditional-brewed option and light pastries. Be on the look out for their updated menu.

City Bakery adds more juice to their menu
The juicing industry is definitely expanding and City Bakery saw this as an opportunity to offer something a little different. The established bakery has recently added a juicing bar in the back of the shop with a not-so-traditional juicing menu. Think kirby cucumber, fennel, and sugarcane,
or banana and cold-brewed coffee with cocoa nibs and lastly, our personal favorite, sweet potato, orange, and cilantro.

New Yorkers for Beverage Choices PR Stunt opposes Bloomberg Soda Ban
The New Yorkers for Beverage Choices (NYBC) was started by the American soft-drink industry to raise awareness about the ban and get more public support. Pro-soda rights banners were flying low over New York City beaches in the Rockaways and Coney Island on 4th of July while moviegoers witnessed staff members wearing “I picked out my beverage all by myself” t-shirts.
NYBC also created a viral video called “Where Will It End”. What are your thoughts on this PR tactic?
