Alison Schneider, owner of Haven’s Kitchen, saw the need for something more in the food industry surrounding sustainability, education and just plain fun– which is what Haven’s kitchen is all about. Culinary classes will be available next week, January 23rd, for registration.
Haven’s Kitchen is located on 109 West 17th Street between 7th and 8th Ave

Union Square gets a new taco spot in a California way. Dorado Tacos & Cemitas is now open

The Baja California-style fish taco shop will also feature a selection of Mexican sodas
and quesadillas.

Ovenly plans to open 1st brick-and-mortar location in Greenpoint

After much success since starting operations in 2010, Ovenly will be opening a retail, event and test kitchen space.
The space is expected to open in March on 31 Greenpoint Avenue at the corner of West St

Demi Monde is set to bring cocktails and coffee to the Financial District very soon

The new hybrid coffee-cockatil bar will be partnering up with Los Angeles’ Handsome Coffee Roasters to introduce what we’d like to call the “caffineated fix”.
Demi Monde is located on 90 Broad Street (near Bridge Street). There is no word out yet on an exact opening date

Chefs are taking a step “backwards” to ancient grain– quinoa, teff, millet and more.

More chefs are experimenting with ancient grains to distinguish textures and tastes from the soft and fluffy Quinoa to the nutty flavor of Teff.

The long lines for those tasty subs will make its debut in Brooklyn with the same menu we’ve come to love ,but now, with cocktails, beer and wine.
