Jamie, who also lives in the neighborhood, has partnered with The Lo-Down (an online news website for the Lower East Side) to produce a printed version of local news

Pret A Manger has recently opened up two new Downtown locations with one on the way next week in Midtown

The newest additions to Pret A Manger is located at 1 Astor Place (East Village) and 350 Hudson Street (Soho). The Midtown West location at the corner of 45th and 6th Ave is expected to open next week.

Battery Park City will soon be home to a rotating line-up of food trucks near The World Financial Center

Trucks will be parked on North End Avenue everyday from 11am to 3pm. David Cheikin, director of Brooklfield Properties which owns the World Financial Center, is currently figuring out how everything will work with The New York City Food Truck Association.

With plans to open a Noho location early next year, Mile End tries to get a wine and beer license approved

Zella Jones of the neighborhood expressed concerns to Community Board 2 about the late night drinking crowd that the location will attract if it’s opening from 8am – 2am. Although Mile End showed a signed petition of 140 signatures, the application was denied.
