The juicing industry is definitely expanding and City Bakery saw this as an opportunity to offer something a little different. The established bakery has recently added a juicing bar in the back of the shop with a not-so-traditional juicing menu. Think kirby cucumber, fennel, and sugarcane,
or banana and cold-brewed coffee with cocoa nibs and lastly, our personal favorite, sweet potato, orange, and cilantro.

New Yorkers for Beverage Choices PR Stunt opposes Bloomberg Soda Ban
The New Yorkers for Beverage Choices (NYBC) was started by the American soft-drink industry to raise awareness about the ban and get more public support. Pro-soda rights banners were flying low over New York City beaches in the Rockaways and Coney Island on 4th of July while moviegoers witnessed staff members wearing “I picked out my beverage all by myself” t-shirts.
NYBC also created a viral video called “Where Will It End”. What are your thoughts on this PR tactic?
Radish plans to open an event space and supper club this Fall
Williamsburg’s favorite spot for grab-n-go home-cooked meals, specialty food products and more will soon have another location with a bit more space for patrons who’d like to stay a while. The event space will be able to host dinners for corporate dinners, weddings, and other special occasions. When the event space is not is use, the supper club will host a ticketed event with a seasonal menu.
The new 1,500 sq. ft. event space and supper club will be located on 190 North 14th Street between Berry and Wythe Street
Wisconsin launches ID program for livestock
The Wisconsin Livestock Identification Consortium recently launched a new program called The Identifying Wisconsin branded Official ID in a collaborative effort by industry officials and producers to accurately trace data about each animal and the farm they come from.
This new program is currently self-funded by Wisconsin livestock producers
Iconic Hand Rolls is now open in the East Village
The signature logo design defines the single product offering at this new fast casual spot that specializes in temaki rolls on a cone. The temaki roll menu includes cobia ceviche, skirt steak, eggplant, coconut shrimp (and more) with beer and sake.

Taïm is expected to open their 2nd shop in Nolita later this month
In two weeks, the new 18-seater shop for the falafel and sabich empire will open on Mulberry Street. The menu will feature much of their staple items from the Waverly Street location with some new seasonal options to choose from.

Urban Rustic opens at McCarren Park in Williamsburg
After the recent re-opening of the pool at McCarren Park, Urban Rustic has decided to set up shop on wheels. The food cart will offer items to-go such as bratwurst wrapped in bacon with pico de gallo/American cheese, s’more bars and much more.
