Hampton Chutney, a family-owned enterprise that opened in 1997 upstate, serves up a traditional Indian delight called dosas in an innovative way. A dosa is a large, crispy, sourdough crepe. Usually dosas are served with potato masala filling with various types of chutney, a wet or dry condiment that contains spices, vegetables and occassionally fruits. At Hampton Chutney, they provide options that would appeal to the general population without sacrificing authenticity. The menu selection along with the ambience and decor provides a perfect medium between a culture staple and its new audience.
