Shame On Sandy: A Variety Show Benefit 1/12/13

My Last Supper is producing a variety show for Sandy relief on January 12 at the Highline Stages. Food and drinks from some of New York’s finest chefs and artisans will be served, accompanied by pieces and performances from some of the city’s most entertaining creatives.

Every dollar from ticket sales will go directly to the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City for Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts.

Just Food Conference March 29th and 30th in NYC

Just Food Conference

On March 29 and 30, 2013, Just Food will host their annual conference. Thetwo-day event will offer opportunities for the general public, food professionals, entrepreneurs, job seekers, CSA members, community organizers and farmers to come together for two days of workshops and skill- building sessions. The conference will provide attendees with opportunities to learn about national farm and food issues, CSA trends, and cooking and food preservation techniques, as well as ways to mobilize communities in order to increase access to farm-fresh, locally grown food.
On Friday from 5:30pm-7:30pm, Just Food and Good Food Jobs will co-host the Good Food Jobs Get Together, a networking event for conference participants and the job-seeking public. On Saturday, they’ll host an EXPO from 12pm-6:30pm featuring local food artisans, sustainable businesses, and organizations. At the end of the conference, they will host a closing reception from 4:30pm – 6:30pm at the EXPO.

Food as Fashion: Redefining Dining Event on December 3rd

Faith Hope Consolo is moderating a year-end panel at the New York National Conference of the The International Council of Shopping Centers on December 3rd, 2012, from 4:00 to 5:30. A cocktail reception will be followed by a discussion of trends and plans by Randy Garutti of Shake Shack, Michael Stillman of Fourth Wall Restaurants, Doug Griebel of Rosa Mexicano, and others.

Bon Appétit Do-Your-Part Dinner Series to Benefit Sandy Victims 12/6 & 12/7

George Embiricos from Food Republic reports on The Bon Appétit Do-Your-Part Dinner Series: Taking place in New York City on December 6 and 7, the two separate dinners will feature some of the nation’s top chefs and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York, raising money for Hurricane Sandy relief.

The first night features chefs Sean Brock(Husk), April Bloomfield (The Spotted Pig, The Breslin in NYC) and Daniel Humm (Eleven Madison Park, NoMad), among others. The second dinner includes New Orleans chef John Besh, Danny Bowien (Mission Chinese Food),Dan Kluger (ABC Kitchen), Naomi Pomeroy (Beast) and Andy Ricker (Pok Pok). Brooklyn’s Vine Wine will provide libations for the wine pairings and there will be coffee from Stumptown. Both dinners are at 7 p.m.
