Francois Payard’s 3rd Annual Macaron Day comes to New York on Tuesday, March 20th

Participating New York bakeries will be giving out free macarons. A portion of macaron sales during the full day event will go to City Harvest.

Former Chocolate Library space will be turned into a macaron heaven as Macaron Parlour opens their 1st brick-and-mortar shop this Summer

The bakery is best known for taking this traditional French pastry and pairing it up with not-so-traditional stuff– making it a big hit at the Hester Street Fair. The menu includes Tiramisu, Peanut Butter Cup, Candied Bacon with Maple Cheese and much more.
Macaron Marlour will be located on 111 St. Marks Place between 1st Avenue and Avenue A

Grandaisy Bakery plans to close flagship location

The 73 Sullivan Street location is set to close in July while the Tribeca location, at 250 West Broadway, will now become the new flagship bakery outlet.

Prime Butcher Baker, a Kosher butcher and bakery market, is open for business in the Upper East Side

On February 15th, Prime Hospitality Group opened Prime Butcher Baker offering an innovative approach to traditional Kosher food. Some highlights of the new shop include cheesecakes made from tofu, Lebanese kibbe and meat pies as well as kosher wagyu beef.
Prime Butcher Baker is located on 1572 Second Avenue at 81st Street

B&B Empire reopens their “Mile End rival” bagel shop

The bagel shop finally reopens after months of a bagel battle with Mile End. The two shops are at odds over which shop actually offers a true Montreal-style bagel.
The shop is located on 200 Clinton Street towards the corner of Atlantic Avenue

New cake pop shop in Chelsea– Stick&Pop

When it comes to Stick&Pop, think of cake on a stick. You can choose a pop from their classic, wedding, baby shower, special event, or valentine’s day menus.
The new cake pop shop is located on 233 W. 19th Street between 7th and 8th Street

Brooklyn patisserie, Sweet Melissa, is closing in Cobble Hill but the Park Slope location will remain open

The Cobble Hill location is the original storefront for the French bakery which opened 1998. Owner Melissa Murphy claims that the shop is now closed due to rising rent.
The Park Slope location is still open at 175 Seventh Avenue at First Street

Dorie and Josh Greenspan pop-up CookieBar ends tomorrow, Febuary 10th

The 3rd Annual pop-up CookieBar debut this week in Midtown East at Mizu. The shop features a selection of well known favorites including Chewy Chunky Blondies, Espresso Shortbread Chocolate Chip, French Vanilla Sable and a few newcomers.
Mizu is located on 505 Park Ave between 59th and 60th Street from 10am – 6pm

La Toulousaine Bakery is now open in The Upper West Side

Jean Francois Gatozre and his wife says the name of the bakery means “woman from Toulouse” and has always wanted to operate a bakery in America since leaving France six years ago.
The bakery will serve traditional pastries from croissants to french baguettes. La Toulousaine is located on 942 Amsterdam Avenue between 106th and 107th Street
