The Meatball Shop has started a circular craze.

Since the opening of The Meatball Shop in the Lower East Side and it’s second outpost that recently opened in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, people and chefs alike are engaging this childhood favorite rolled meat in full steam. You might also recall The Meatball Shop’s latest competitor, Meatball Factory which has declared that their meatballs will be better than what’s currently on the market. The Meatball Shop should be flattered by all of this fame around the infamous ball.

7,125 farmers markets opened up this summer; compared to 6,132 last year in 2010. The biggest growth came from states where there wasn’t much interest in it, such as Texas, which saw a 46% increase in these markets.

The Overlooked Ice Coffee Home Consumer Gets More Attention from Roasting Companies

According to the National Coffee Association, 73 percent of coffee that is consumed by Americans is prepared in the comfort of their home– so why didn’t roasting companies jump on this fact sooner. It’s probably because the popularity of ice coffee consumed at home was always questionable– until recently. 500 miliion ice coffee drinks were ordered at various eateries in 2010 compared to only 100 million in 2006. Now roasting companies like Green Mountain and Starbucks are finding ways to attract more consumers and gain revenue by embarking on a new "venture". A little more ice please.
