Hudson River Park: Seeking Proposals for Mobile Food Concessions
Hudson River Park, which runs along Manhattan’s West Side, is seeking bids for seven new food carts and trucks opening May 1. Locations are available in Battery Park City, TriBeCa, Hudson Square, the West Village and Hell’s Kitchen, according to their request for proposals.
The park will collect a portion of sales for monthly fees, according to the RFP. Submissions are being accepted through March 15.
In Search of Kosher Operator for East Broadway
Bowery Boogie reports plans are in the works for a Kosher restaurant at 171 East Broadway on the Lower East Side.
“Spearheading the effort is Madison Jackson developer Michael Bolla, who is single-handedly angling for the cultural restoration of Jewish Lower East Side. He enlisted longtime business partner Ron Castellano for the endeavor. The local architect, whose conversion credits include the Jewish Forward Building and the forthcoming Jarmulowsky Bank hotel, spent $1.5 million restoring the space. Both are now on the prowl for potential investors and operators.”

Winning businesses then receive an all-expense paid booth at the Summer Fancy Food Show.

Farm Camp Registration is Open!
Farm Camp at Stone Barns Center For Food & Agriculture has opened their registration for summer. Camp runs from June to August.

Williamsburg’s McCarren Pool seeks mobile food vendors. Proposals due Wednesday, September 12th
In light of several arrests made for vendors who have sold illegally on or near the pool’s grounds, the city is now seeking licensed vendors. Local vendors are happy about the proposal request as they describe the vending around the pool’s site as a “free for all”.

Urban Space opens another market in the Meatpacking District on September 1st
Starting on September 1st until the end of 2012, the Meatpacking District will host a food/fashion market with a “mixology bar” for juices and non-alcoholic drinks. The market will be open every day from 11am – 8 pm. Asia Dog, Steve’s Ice Cream, Red Hook Lobster Pound, Mayhem & Stour, and Mexicue are a part of the line-up so far.
