Opening three doors down from the mothership location, Murray’s Cheese Bar will offer everything that is “cheesy” in a restaurant-like setting. Chef fromager Tia Keenan spearheads the 56-seater space’s menu.

Blue Collar is now open in Williamsburg

This new burger spot is similar to the staple In-N-Out Burger from the west coast with their signature flat-bread burger. The menu includes burgers, cheeseburgers, double cheeseburgers, hot dogs and shakes.
Blue Collar is located at 160 Havemeyer Street between S. 2nd and S. 3rd Street

The Meatball Shop is coming to the Upper East Side in 2013

The winter season will open arms to The Meatball Shop’s expected opening for early 2013. The owners (Daniel Holzman and Michael Chernow) just reported to Eater NY that they have signed a lease for a location on 2nd Avenue between 76th and 77th Street.
The space will host 70 seats with a private dining area

Macaron Café is now open in Midtown East

The French macaron trend continues in New York with the grand opening of Macaron Café. The menu offers flavors like Fleur de Sel (caramel), Chocolate Passion Fruit, Coconut, Espresso and much more.

Opening Update: Sullivan Street Bakery opens 2nd location in the Chelsea area

The bakery opened its doors last week Wednesday with much anticipation from their loyal fan base. The second Sullivan Street outpost is baking traditional favorites on-site such as the olive oil cake, cornetti, bombolonis and much more with Italian groceries for sale.

Oatmeals is now open offering oats in the Greenwich Village

This new single-product shop serves up oatmeal with various toppings– traditional and
non-traditional. The menu also includes baked goods and pastries with oats as the main ingredient.

Small fruit making a big mark with local grocers

The convenience factor has finally hit the produce market as the Cuties brand, a seedless, sweet and easy-to-peel mandarin, hits the ground running. The Wall Street Journal highlights the brand as “the most profitable citrus in America” and has caused many farmers in California to re-consider planting this new American favorite. Now, Cuties is expanding distribution to the east coast as they are seeing increased competition from new brands such as Darling Clementines, Delite, Clem’NTina’s and Bee Sweet.

Heard on The Street: Mast Brothers coming to South Street Seaport?

While it has yet to be confirmed, numerous sources are speculating about a retail location opening for the chocolate company on Water Street– 213 Water Street to be exact. The shop will have a retail and exhibit on-site.

The Meatball Factory is now closed

Although it was short-lived, The Meatball Factory did strike up a lot of buzz for their grand opening in October 2011 for having Top Chef contestant Dave Martin on board and being a competitor to the well-known Meatball Shop empire.

Bedford Cheese Shop opens a bigger location in Gramercy

It’s official! The Williamsburg shop that specializes in fromage opened up their second location in Manhattan last weekend. The 5,000 square foot space includes a spacious retail section, specialty cheese classrooms and 3 cheese caves.
