City Harvest releases an app that allows people to look up city restaurants that donate to the organization.
Next week Tuesday, October 18th, City Harvest launches an app called “Great Food, Good Hearts” that will allow patrons to look up restaurants and make reservations via OpenTable to combat hunger

Farmers looking forward to upcoming year for New York City Department of Education contracts
With many food distribution contracts for New York City’s Department Of Education (DOE) expiring August 2012, many local farmers are looking to get in on a piece of the action.
With current contracts totaling $142 million, farmers seek to get into business with large purchasing companies such as DOE’s SchoolFund Program which purchases 900,000 meals a day
Tavern On The Green says good-bye to food trucks
Food Trucks parked at the famous location where Tavern On The Green once lived in Central Park will be moving out on Saturday, October 15th as the city makes plans for major reconstruction.
All four food trucks, Ladle of love, Rickshaw Dumplings, Pera Turkish Taco and Van Leeuwen will not be renewing their leases for next year in result of lower revenues than expected while the city’s Department of Design and Construction prepare to make assessments on the site for future plans
