Daily Finance, an AOL money and finance site, decided to conduct a taste test to know which coffee gave you “the best buzz for your buck”. The competitors included McDonald’s, Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts, and the coffee from their office as a control group.

Starbucks was the top contender and the office coffee in second place. As for McDonald’s, there were some harsh remarks about their beans.

Honduras rises as Guatemala takes
a back seat

There’s a new coffee sheriff in Central America named– Honduras. After tallying up the coffee production for this season, Honduras beat out Guatemala by producing 3.8 million of 60-kg coffee bags versus 3.5 million. Much of the boost in production is speculated to be from the decline of coffee smuggling in Honduras to Guatemala which put a damper on the country’s lifeline. New tax laws and government assistance have helped to boost the economy which includes organizing 90 farmers under a cooperative with 80% of the coffee being sold with certification seals as one of the steps towards to addressing the situation.

Proposal for hens and better living conditions
