Antibiotics have been used by farmers to help grow bigger animals but people who eat these animals over a long period of time have become resistant to antibiotic treatments when sick due to a bacteria buildup. The inability to treat people with antibiotics has caused 99,000 deaths each year.

Food nutrition apps like Fooducate and Don’t Eat That are gaining interest among smartphone users

According to a recent ComScore survey, 44% of smartphone users utilize a health-related app on a regular basis while 17 million people have accessed food nutrition information on their phone in late 2011– up 125% from 2010.

Vanilla prices are projected to rise due to low production
