New York City Restaurant Inspection Survey Update: 965 restaurants have responded as of Tuesday, January 24th

New York City Councilwoman, Christine C. Quinn, states that the complaints are not just coming from one particular neighborhood as all five boroughs, with various restaurant types, are sounding off about the unfair inspection grades

Williamburg’s Mercado on Kent will be opening a bread bakery this Friday, January 27th. This is another mark of the New York City market-restaurant bakery trend

In addition to getting a new chef on board, Mercado on Kent’s bread bakery will also feature specialty olive oils and charcuterie. The bakery will be open from 9am – 3pm. Mercado on Kent is located on 291 Kent Avenue.

Starbucks adds beer and wine to drive in more evening sales

Testing for the new menu offerings are being analyzed in 5 Seattle locations. The Olive Way, Seattle location was the first to have the new menu additions implemented and has reported double-digit same-store-sales after 4pm.
Beer and wine will be tested next in Southern California, Atlanta and Chicago
